"We are making changes to PayPal Shipping that we wanted to notify you of. Starting July 2021, we will be moving PayPal Shipping to a new platform powered by ShipStation, a third-party solution that specializes in shipping services for e-commerce businesses.

The new shipping platform allows you to find the best option for each shipment by comparing rates across a selection of carriers and services.

Additionally, you will continue to have access to all the same features you have today, including:

• Access to discounts on USPS and UPS labels
• Seller Protection1 coverage on eligible purchases/shipments so that you’re protected from disputes and claims
• Ability to purchase and print shipping labels for multiple orders (coming soon)

What this means for you:

• You will need to connect your PayPal Business account to ShipStation the first time you use the new platform. To start, go to Shipping in the App Center, and click on Get Started.
• You will need to select your shipping preferences after you connect to the new platform (your current settings will not be carried over).
• Your previous shipments and tracking information are still available in your PayPal account history"

For those of us who use PayPal shipping to take advantage of the discounts and chargeback protection, does anyone know if, and how, PayPal's move to ShipStation might allow us to use the ShipStation integration in the shopping cart?

As an addendum to Marshall's note from July, has anybody heard anything about Paypal ceasing the ability to purchase and print shipping labels directly through them beginning in January 2022, even though Paypal is using Shipstation?
Had a discussion with Derek of Shipstation today who casually mentioned this was going to happen in January 2022 and that we might as well subscribe to and integrate ShipStation now as this was scheduled to happen anyway due to their integration with Paypal. This would completely disrupt our current shipping processes and am not sure if this was completely accurate information... or not. I've asked for confirming documentation of this from Derek, but have yet to receive it.

I can't confirm the information you received, but just to point out that the Ecommerce Templates shopping cart is integrated with ShipStation for those that need it.
