Hello
I am trying to add wordpress to my website https://www.crystal-wizard.com
Is there a module I can buy or is it a free download,or do I buy it as a service from a third party like Bluehost?
Can you send me the instructions on how to install it?
Thanks
Warren

Hi Warren

I am not into WordPress, never liked it, so once one of the other contributors with WP experience read this they should be able to give you much more info. I use the inbuilt ECT CMS which I find more than suitable for what I require. Have you looked into the ECT CMS (Content Regions)?

I see your site is asp but WP is a php software so I think there will be some migration of stuff from asp to php required, eg: database.

This may be a place to start.

Your web hosting account may very well have blogging platforms available, the cPanel I'm currently logged in to has seven, inc WP.

Adding a blog isn't just about adding a blog; there are loads of pitfalls, benefits & maintenance to consider as well as the time involved in a blog. A couple of questions to ponder are -

A. What is the overall aim/reason for adding a blog? If it's purely for SEO then it's the completely wrong reason.

B. Does the site contstantly get fair traffic volumes which would warrant a blog? If not sack the idea. On the other hand adding a blog may very well up the traffic & turn out a great investment but it needs a lot of time & effort, & as we all know time = money.

Hi Warren, Steve is correct in that your site (assuming this is the one you want to change to wordpress) is an .asp site and the wordpress runs on .php
This would be a complicated change.
Vince is away and has limited access, but may be able to offer some additional information.

As Steve mentioned, perhaps there is another option for adding this feature to your existing site.
