Recently, I've been working to integrate DHL onto my website for customers to use for international orders. Currently, we have "DHL Express Worldwide" selected for shipping methods and "international" selected for the shipping order. We are charged residential rates through the DHL website while the customer is charged commercial rates through our checkout. Is there a way to force residential rates through the website checkout system? Thank you.

Hi Zach
Would the rates that you get not be tied to your DHL Site ID? Have you got a rep that you could contact to ask? If they need the XML request and response I can let you know how to get a copy of that.

Hey Vince,
I would love to know how to get a copy of that. I believe that may be part of what they/I need to get this changed.

Hey Vince,

Is there a way to configure/see the email that receives the debug messages?

Hi Zach
The store email set in the ECT Admin -> Main Settings page will be used to send the email to. If it's not arriving then please try the SPAM folder.

Hey Vince,

Revisiting this thread because the DHL support team finally got back to me. I was able to send them the info from the debugemail setting, which allowed them to see where things could be altered/changed. They told me the following:

"To flag a shipment with the residential delivery, include the "TK" optional service code in both the rate request and shipment request.

This will be in the actual request message that is sent through the web service, which will have the below code included to flag a shipment as residential:

<SpecialService>
<SpecialServiceType>TK</SpecialServiceType>
</SpecialService>
"
My question is, is it possible to manipulate the rate and shipment request sent from ecommerce templates to include this info? Not too sure if this is applicable code to the website's structure.

Hi Zach
I'm trying to test this here but the trouble is all my DHL test account numbers are suddenly not working. Would it be possible for you to go to the shipping admin page and click on DHL Admin then send your site id / pw / etc to my email at vince AT ecommercetemplates DOT com ?

Hey Vince,

I can do that, I'll send you the sandbox credentials just to be safe, as email is not the most secure thing for this.
