charmarsh Ecommerce Template Expert USA 991 Posts	Posted - 05/17/2023 : 14:52:52 I'd like the product page and category pages URLS to be... from: /categories.php?cat=Accessories to: /category/Accessories
dbdave ECT Moderator USA 10777 Posts	Posted - 05/17/2023 : 15:28:11 That's a little more involved, but you can see the details here - https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/seo/search-engine-friendly-urls-php.asp David
charmarsh Ecommerce Template Expert USA 991 Posts	Posted - 05/18/2023 : 16:24:34 I tried this. Some pages worked but some went whacky. Can you advise as to how to execute this smoothly. Is there an issue with static pages perhaps? Edited by - charmarsh on 05/19/2023 09:46:17
dbdave ECT Moderator USA 10777 Posts	Posted - 05/19/2023 : 11:06:41 There are special considerations there for static pages in the instructions there. Personally, I'm not convinced it's worth the hassle for the SEO benefits, but many folks would disagree with me I expect. Have you made the required changes in your htaccess file? Thanks, David
charmarsh Ecommerce Template Expert USA 991 Posts	Posted - 05/19/2023 : 12:59:11 Yes added to htaccess. Pages create %'s between words and then will not link. Some pages will lose all the formatting completely.
dbdave ECT Moderator USA 10777 Posts	Posted - 05/19/2023 : 14:29:08 It sounds like you are losing connection to css files. css files should be excluded from the extensionless urls. David
Phil ECT Moderator United Kingdom 7858 Posts	Posted - 05/20/2023 : 00:53:29 Hi Charlotte, If you're losing page formatting you need to add the line below before the call for any css lines on your products.php and categories.php files <base href="http<?php if(@$_SERVER['HTTPS']=='on') print 's'?>://www.yourstoreurl.com/" /> quote: Pages create %'s between words and then will not link. Can you give an example of a url where this happens? *Contact Us* *Buy The PHP Capture Card Plugin* Rate Our Services/View Our Feedback Edited by - Phil on 05/20/2023 03:43:46
