Hi All,
Is there anyway to force ECT to auto resize images to a set size for Categories, and for the Products Page, Small, Large, and Guy-Gantic sizes?
Thanks

Hi Ratfink11, when you upload the images in the admin you should be seeing an option to resize them. Are you not seeing that, or are you asking about something different? Thanks, David

No,
I do not see any option to resize any images...
because of this I cant upload any images as I get a generic error stating the image couldnt be uploaded with no reason or error code.
what I figured out is if the image is to large it wont upload and will give an error...
To be clear... I do not see any option to resize images i any part of the ECT admin page or catefories or product image areas....

What version of the cart are you on? I expect there is a restriction on file size, coming from your host, so you can check with them on that. Thanks, David

Hi Dave, ----Ecommerce PlusASP v7.6.6 ----This is running on my Windows Test Server locally, on my Windows Server 2022 Laptop with IIS installed .... Are there some sort of settings or additional apps that need to be running? ---- Im assuming if there is an option to resize images that would be some sort of popup menu asking if I wish to resize? Wouldnt that be from the ECT Cart Application Settings somewhere? ---- If the image size is too large when uploading to Category Image I get this error: Error uploading image: 500 An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator. If you are the system administrator please click here to find out more about this error. ---- The error link it refers to is here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/iis/application-frameworks/running-classic-asp-applications-on-iis-7-and-iis-8/classic-asp-not-installed-by-default-on-iis

Hi, so take a look at this post - https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=115267You need to have the Persits ASPJpeg object ( https://www.aspjpeg.com/ ) installed on the server to get the resize options. I have my own server and purchased it (it's not cheap), but some hosts will have it available with their hosting plans. Servelink used to offer it on .asp hosting, so I expect they still have it. You can change the allowable file size limit in your IIS settings - just google search it (your version of IIS) and you will find the instructions. Thanks, David

What are the image sizes supposed to be?
Small, Large and Giant? along with the thumbnails images for the Categories?
The auto resize is not useful without this info... The auto resize still needs a px size amount,,, if this is not known then its not useful and doesnt work.

It can be whatever you decide. Search engines and paid product feeds like nice large images. Personally I get the giant images to 1000px width, large to 600 and small to 200, but that might been different for you depending on your image aspect ration and layout needs. Thanks, David

HI David,
Thankyou for that info.
I was experiencing error 500 when I was trying to upload images.
Tried different image sizes, etc.. then realized I had not set my Image and Prodimag folder perms correctly.
I set my image sizes to
Giant- 750px Large- 450px Small- 250px
Figured I would start there.
Thankyou again for your help
