Hi,

UPS covers up to $100 for our orders, which makes shipping insurance unnecessary until a customer's total exceeds $100. Is there a way to set a minimum cost on an order for shipping insurance to be applied for UPS? Otherwise, some customers may end up spending more money than necessary.

We can set a blurb somewhere in the checkout process to inform people at the very least, but I wasn't sure if there was some type of functionality built in to replicate this.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike
Are you getting the insurance value from the carrier? That is, in the ECT Admin -> Main Settings page -> Shipping & Handling do you have the checkbox "Also use for online carriers" or not? If you don't then UPS should take the $100 into count I believe.

Hey Vince,

We have "Also use for online carriers" checked off, alongside a 3.5 percent getting added to the cost. Will that cause UPS to not take the $100 into count?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike
Yes that will as what you are doing is adding your own insurance rules.
