USPS stopped working. Everything was working fine, until a week ago. Now rates do not come in. I thought maybe my API credentials were out of date, so I tried to re-register for new API login. I followed the instructions on ecommercetemplates... registered. I got an email form the USPS and it gave me a login and password Then went to the admin, but it did not ask for a password... so I just put in the user id.... does not work. SO I re-read the UPSP email and it said . API Access Process
Once registration is complete and Web Tools credentials are generated (see above section), access must be requested and approved to use Web Tools APIs. Each API requires separate permissions and approval before access is granted. It will be important to specify which APIs you intend to use and how (i.e., the business use case/justification) when requesting access. If you are using a third-party software or vendor that necessitates Web Tools credentials (i.e., USERID and Password) and access to Web Tools APIs, you must specify the name of the software/vendor when requesting access. There are separate steps to request access depending on which APIs you intend to use. Access to the majority of Web Tools APIs can be requested in the next section. The approval process for Tracking and Shipping Label APIs is separate. Reference those sections below for details. To expedite approval, include all required information detailed in the below sections. For any questions or concerns regarding an access request contact webtools@usps.gov. If you are not an existing customer or using a third-party platform that necessitates the use of Web Tools APIs, please utilize the new USPS APIs available at the USPS Developer Portal. Reference https://developers.usps.com/ for details. 3. Request API Access: Address APIs, Price Calculator APIs, Package Pickup APIs, Service Standards & Commitments APIs, and Facility APIs.
To request access, send an email to webtools@usps.gov and specify in the subject line “Web Tools API Access Request”. Within the body of the email include the following information: - USPS Web Tools USERID (reference USERID above): - USPS Mailer ID (MID): o Note: A mailer identification number (MID) is a 6 or 9-digit number assigned to a customer through the USPS Business Customer Gateway (BCG). Please refer to the following links for help. • https://gateway.usps.com/eAdmin/view/knowledge?securityId=MID • https://postalpro.usps.com/mailing/mailer-id - Company Website: - List of API(s) for which you are requesting access. Reference https://www.usps.com/business/web-tools-apis/documentation-updates.htm underneath “API Guides” for a complete list of APIs. - Expected volume (i.e., peak daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) per API. - Are you a shipper or software provider? Please provide details on how your business will use the APIs. - If you are using a third-party software/software provider that necessitates Web Tools credentials and API access, please specify the name of the third-party software. - Any Additional Information you would like us to consider when evaluating your access request.
4. Request API Access: Tracking & Delivery Information APIsSO I did all that, and I got an email back form USPS saying I was approved... but USPS prices still give me a connection error... so I turned them off and have defaulted to UPS... But UPS is way off, so I would rather use UPSP as it was much closer to correct all the time. What am I missing. I have my new USPS id in my admin of shippers UPSP Scott
