The out of stock notification takes an email address when a product has no options. When a product does have options it does not. Is this a quirk in the software or am I missing something?
For products with no options, I submitted my email address to be notified when it came back in stock. I then logged into the admin and put the product back in stock. No email notification has been received. The site is sending other notices as expected. How do I get it to send the product is back in stock email?
When a customer selected an option that is out of stock, the "Email me" button should appear in place of the add to cart button so the customer can add their email address. This does work on our site. Have you tried it this way? NOTE - The main product needs to be set to "stock by options" for this to work.
Strange - If you are using stock management, there should be a place to enter your stock level right there by the product weight. Are you sure you have stock management enabled? The fact you have a "sell" tick box next to display product, seems to indicate you do not have stock management turned on.
