I'm looking at setting up a store for a new client. I currently have a store running that's hosted by Servelink but I'm looking at the ECT Hosted option. What are the differences? Also, by choosing that option, do we pay for the template or does that just get built in to the monthly cost?

Hi DavidX
Basically it's the same software but with the hosted store it's hosted for you. You don't get access to the includes.php file and can't make custom changes but most of the important parameters have an interface provided for them in the hosted store admin.
You don't pay for the template as that is part of the monthly cost.

Thanks Vince. If I choose the 30 day trial and decide I want to keep it, can I then continue with it and point my own domain to it? Alternatively, if I populate it and, after 30 days decide to host it elsewhere because I find out I need access to that includes file, can I convert over to that using whatever I've added to an inventory as well as any other settings?

Hi DavidX
Sure thing, if you decide you want to keep it you can point your domain to that store. But the settings are made in the database and it's different to how the settings are made in the regular setup so you can't just move those to another site I'm afraid.
