I'm currently running ECT v.7.1.8 with a generic design.

It seems some things in the cart have stopped working (customers no longer seem to be getting cart generated emails, and it also seems my discount codes no longer work), so I'm thinking of updating. My website is mostly old school html . . . not much CSS. I've had it for years and it's not really my main source of income, so I don't really want to spend much time fiddling around with changes. The few orders I still get are enough for me.

So the question is . . . will I have any issues with an update? Can I expect to update with minimal time spent changing things?

Many thanks.

Updates do not change your site design.
If you have not made custom changes in the vsadmin folder, it should be a breeze.
ECT offers a low cost service to apply the updater for you as well.

If you site is really old, you may need to make some changes to your pages as mentioned here - https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=107040

Always take a backup of the site and database before updating - best practice.

Thanks,
David

Thanks so much. I will probably give it a go in the next few weeks. Will give a shout if I have any issues (I'm guessing I will!).
