Hi,

My site has been using ECT for many years. There where malware attack on my server this week, where an .htaccess file was placed in every directory. I have removed the ones in my shop directory but I'm having difficulty reconnecting my database. All the credentials are correct, nothing has changed. Database is fine, and all information is there.

This is the error message (actual details replaced):-

Database Connect Error (1044) Access denied for user 'my_username'@'localhost' to database 'my_databasename'
You need to set your database connection in vsadmin/db_conn_open.php

When I click the link for help it tells me to use the createdb.php but I don't have that file.

Any help appreciated.

I'm afraid it's really a case of, if the connection details were correct and the database exists, then you wouldn't get that message. Have you contacted your host about this as they are really the ones to help sort this out?

Problem solved. I created a new user for the database, then replaced the username in the db_conn_open.php file and that did the trick.
