I used the Servelink image uploader for years and I really liked how it would name the images for you. Is there a way to make the built-in image uploader do this?

Hi DavidX
The built in image uploader should maintain the name of the file that you upload. If you choose the resizing options then it should add extensions for the small, large and giant images. Is that not happening for you?

It is working like that. I scan images and save images from the internet but it's a lot of them so, the way I work is I scan and save always as "AAA" and then I would upload and the file would be automatically renamed based on the pID, Then, I'd move on to the next one which would overwrite the last one which was totally fine and prevented me from having a ton of images piling up. Currently, I'm getting the image and copy/pasting the pID as the image name. If I use my previous method all of the items I've added images to all show the same image being whatever the last one uploaded was.
Ultimately, I didn't need to bother with naming anything before which made for a speedier process.

I used to love the way the servelink mod would use the product name as well.
I used to do the same thing.. drop an image on the desktop with the same name 1111.jpg or something and upload the rinse and repeat.
It is an extra step to save the image with a unique filename, but I do love the built in upload feature and not having to reinstall the mod.

If you were up to making improvements Vince, I would suggest a naming convention based on the product ID and the image order.
widget-abc product
1st image would be
widget-abc-1-sm
widget-abc-1-lg
widget-abc-1-gt

2nd image would be
widget-abc-2-sm
widget-abc-2-lg
widget-abc-2-gt

and so on...

Thanks,
David
