Hi,
I have setup the Ship station account and have successfully made connection to my cart using the Ship station add on.

What is the procedure for using Ship station once you have things setup?

Please advise,
Thanks

Ship station has great help files there, but the short of it is to click the circular icon in the upper right (it will spin) to import orders.
From there open an order to select options and generate a shipping label.

There are numerous features you can take advantage of.
We setup a custom ship notification email there to alert the customers of the shipment, and email when it's delivered.
This can be highly customized.
You can connect a scale to weigh boxes if you need this feature.
You can connect a thermal printer to generate peel and stick labels.
It goes on and on... Good stuff.

Hi dbdave,

Thank you so much for your help.
Ship Station give me a green connection approval but I can't seem to get the orders to pull into ship station.
May I ask you a few questions?

1... I have placed the secure folder in the root folder of the site, should this go inside the vsadmin instead?

2... what did you place in the order status boxes in ship station?

Thank you so much.

Looking at one of my clients setup the Shipstation directory should be in root and the config should be set to the following:

//Change the number to the Status # you want to export to ShipStation
$preShipStatus=3; // status = new order
$postShipStatus=7; //status = completed

If that's not correct I'm sure Dave will set you straight.

The order status names in Ship station must match the names of your order status in the admin 100% EXACTLY for things to work.

Shipstation is asking for the following:

Awaiting Payment Statuses:???
Awaiting Shipment Statuses:???
Shipped Statuses:???
Cancelled Statuses:???
On-Hold Statuses:???

The xml file has the follow:

$preShipStatus=3;
$postShipStatus=6;

So for a default ect install that would be the following:
$preShipStatus=3; - would be - Authorized
$postShipStatus=6; - would be - Shipped

So is the following correct or not?

Awaiting Payment Statuses: none
Awaiting Shipment Statuses: Authorized
Shipped Statuses: Shipped
Cancelled Statuses: none
On-Hold Statuses: none

Please advise

similar issue here. Setup the folder, xml file, connected it in SS, but doesnt seem to bring orders in. I am using the Private Text to map my statuses. Should I be using the Public Text? Or any other reasons that it might not bring in orders?

You want "public text" there - exactly as it's shown or it will not work.
Once I changed the public text of one of those and a few hours later ship station quit working. I didn't put the two together and it about drove me nuts -

changed to public text and that did not seem to do the trick. Are there any other troubleshooting things to make sure that the XML is working? I believe I have followed all of the instructions. Thanks!

When you click the icon to import orders, what happens?
Any errors?

I don't get any errors. I click on the "reload" link next to the store name and it refreshed and simply says "There are currently no records"

You asked about importing orders and there is an "Import Orders.." under Other Actions which appears to be for the purpose of importing through CSV. I don't think you are asking about that.

I had been clicking on the reload text link. I clicked on the reload button in the upper right hand corner and it brought some things in. Looks sort of like items instead of orders, but I need to take a look at what is going on. I'll post again if I have any other questions. Thanks!

It will only import new orders. What are your current order statuses set to?

You want (in the top right) the round arrow icon - Hover and select "update all stores"
That should pull orders in that are sitting in the status that you have designated as your new orders.

I've been hearing a lot about ShipStation in various threads ... can someone provide a link on where to get the add-on and any helpful setup and configuration threads?

Thanks!

I guess I need to chime in on the same problem: setup went fine, folder and paths OK, order status, then nothing comes in when I click the Update All Stores link EXCEPT for properly updating "Last Updated". I took the leading ".." off the path on one attempt, and got the appropriate error message, so I switched them back
and the only thing that updated was "Last Updated" ... still no orders in ShipStation ... but I DID get a slightly delayed "problem updating order counts" error.

When connecting UPS to ShipStation, ShipStation prompted with the WRONG zip code when filling out the ShipStation UPS Registration Wizzard, but I corrected that, then i completed the Wizzard using "0000AcctNo111" instead of "AcctNo111" which ECT registered with.

I'm also trying ShipStation support ... I'll take whatever help I can get! ;-)

I'll re-post if they provide anything useful.

Hi Tim, when you put in the order status', did you match what your website shows exactly?
I am pretty sure it needs to match the public facing status names...
At least this was a big issue for some people...

I was using the configuration plugin until I discovered ect had native support for ShipStation, so I redid setup and it worked like a charm, until we ran into a "missing warehouse" problem, which was just a way of defining where you shipped from.

It WAS interesting to see the support for multiple warehouses ... does anyone know if you can drop ship through those other warehouse locations?

Hi Tim, I'm not sure, but I believe most drop shippers handle their own shipping, no?

I think the multiple warehouse locations is if you yourself, had multiple locations you ship your orders from.

Thanks,
David
