I just wanted to make sure I have the update procedure correct this time!

Method of Updating to v7.2.6
Css
Custompayproc
Images
Vsadmin
Open each folder and update the contents to the equivalent folder

=================
Upload and overwrite
emailfriend.php
updatestore.php

instructions.txt further information

Hi John
If you are in the root of your website and you copy the vsadmin folder, then everything in vsadmin and all the subdirectories of that will overwrite everything in your website. So you don't really need to "Open each folder and update the contents to the equivalent folder", just copy everything from the root. Don't worry about the custompayproc folder as that's just in case you don't have the latest defaults, but you do.
Then make sure you run the updatestore.php script in your browser.

In Dreamweaver I select the files in the black box and then paste them to root (the top folder) next run updatestore.php.
Then I upload these files with Filezilla do I run updatestore.php again on the remote server?

Upload the files to the server, & that includes the updatestore.php file that came with the latest updater, then run updatestore.php in your web browser to fully update the website files.

Make sure you delete the updatestore.php file after updating.

Then download to my Dreamweaver with FTP?

I do not have my admin folder in my design software (expression web) because the paths can get messed up.
No need to have it in the same folder on your computer. Play it safe!
Just use FTP only.
Upload the files from the update package to the server...
Run updatestore in the browser..
Delete updatestore from the server..
Once confirmed it's all working, pull down the files via FTP from the server, overwriting the files in the local PC.

Looking at the remote server I have some files
AADeletemeadmin
AADeleteme-css
AADeleteme-js
AADeletemeimages

Is it OK to delete these?

Yes, you don't need the updater directory on your website.
