Is there a way to offer a product (in this case a book) for "pre-sale"? Is it as simple as putting the product on the site and simply stating that it won't be shipped until a certain date?

Has anyone had experience with this - any thoughts or ideas?

Hi

That's what I would do, I can't see another way really.

You might add a product option that is mandatory to select, that says, I understand that this will not be shipped until xxxx date.

The shopping cart is so flexible, it's not unusual to find a creative solution that works.
This would also put a record of the customers agreement, right on the order.
It would really be hard for a customer to come back to you and say they didn't know it was a pre-sale.
