Something is wrong with my PayPal button. Customers getting error saying "PayPal Payment Pro error: Security error
Security header is not valid" I dont even have PayPal Payment Pro! I only use PayPal Express.

Just started a couple of days ago. I have not made any changes to this paypal link for years.

Please advise.

Hi, this same error has come up twice in the last week or so.
Can you check this thread?
https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=113950

and https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=113955

It seems PayPal was more forgiving in the past with some fields left blank and not they are not.
Can you check your setup?

David

Sorry I don't fully understand. Is this something to do on ECT or on PayPal? Are your referring to setting up an API?
I have email address filled in
API Method: API Certificate
Transaction Type : Sale

No other info filled in.
Do I have to select the "API credentials for payments and post-checkout operations (Can be set up later)" If so where are the instructions for that?

If you do not want to setup the API which is easy then you can use Paypal Standard setup is here https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/phphelp/ecommplus/paypal.asp

I already use Braintree for credit cards. I was using paypal EXPRESS for customers who want to pay with their paypal account. Is this wrong?

Do I need an api signature? or certificate?

OK I changed it from certificate to signature and found the API area on my paypal account under Account Settings/API settings/NVP/SOAP API integration (classic)/Manage API settings.
And resolved the issue successfully.
