USPS API Problems

Marshall Ecommerce Template Guru USA 1957 Posts	Posted - 09/02/2025 : 09:15:46 I followed everything in this thread and I am getting this error "API Authorization failure. RateV4 is not a valid API name for this protocol." The consumer keys and secret keys are incredibly long and I am not clear on what goes into the account # field. ANy help/clarification would be greatly appreciated. Side note: Why does USPS make this so difficult. Their instructions are poorly written and you have to jump back a forth through hoops to get any where. Vince Administrator 43155 Posts	Posted - 09/04/2025 : 04:33:20 Hi Marshall My consumer key is 48 characters and my consumer secret is 64 so it may well be that you have the correct credentials. You need one of the latest versions to use the new USPS oAuth API and if so you can go to the ECT Admin -> SHIPPING ADMIN -> -> Shipping Methods -> USPS Admin and it will give you a link there where you can get these details and you should enter them for the Username / Consumer Key and for the Password for the Consumer Secret. Vince Administrator 43155 Posts	Posted - 09/05/2025 : 11:32:31 Hi Marshall If you enter the new 48 / 64 character keys then the system should automatically use the new API so can you make sure you've updated, then make sure you've entered the consumer key and secret correctly and if it's still not working can you send me the site FTP login and I'll take a look. Marshall Ecommerce Template Guru USA 1957 Posts	Posted - 09/05/2025 : 12:49:32 Hey Vince, Turns out that, even though I twice uploaded the new cart version 7.8.7, one or more of the files did not overwrite the old files. I did a complete delete of all the cart files on the server then re-uploaded 7.8.7 and the problem was solved. I really appreciate everyone's help and this matter and remind everyone to triple check file dates.
