Is there a fix to this without updating? I am running 7.3.3

The code for the new UPS API is in both the Stability Release and Advanced Release but doesn't go back as far as v7.3 I'm afraid so maybe it's time to update I'm afraid.

I just updated to 7.9.1 and still get the "Too many requests" message.

I thought the update was supposed to resolve this issue?

Hi Ken, if you read through this thread, you will see there are a few steps you need to take.

You need to go to the UPS developer page and follow the steps Vince posted.

Click on "Add App".
In answer to: "I need API credentials because " - "I want to integrate UPS technology into my business".
Select your UPS account that you want to link to this App.
Fill out your contact details.
Give the App a name, such as "ECTRatesApp".
"Authorization ( O Auth)" should already be selected, and you need to add, "Rating" and "Tracking" to the products included in the App by searching the various API's (use the slider to turn on rating and tracking). Then click "Save".
Enter your Client ID and Secret here in this admin page along with your UPS Account Number.




When you are done, you will get two alphanumerical fields
there is a "copy to clipboard" button.
The first one copy into the rate code field
the second one copy into the password field.
the shipper number is your 6 digit UPS account number
access key - leave empty

That should take care of it.

Having to take these extra steps makes me wish I had dumped use of this template two years ago instead of paying for more usage.

This just wrong.

Hi Ken, this is UPS forcing the change.
Regardless of what cart you use, there are going to be things like this popping up.

But years later you don't dump the products and every time you have to do something new you get frustrated and come on here to tell us that you are really, really going this time. I'm getting to the point where I've had quite enough of you to tell the truth, Ken. Please moderate your attitude or we will take you up on your offer and we'll just have to learn to live without the few measly euros you pay each year. !!
