Hi, A number of customers have contacted me in recent weeks after experiencing difficulty with the Paypal Pay in 3 (pay later) option. They seem confused because the 'Pay Later' option is not displayed on the first or second checkout pages. If they select Paypal as the payment method the 'Pay Later' option is shown on the third checkout page, but they don't always get that far. Also, a couple of customers have contacted me expressing concern that they have been charged twice or charged the full balance rather than just the first instalment... I think this may be because the checkout page shows the total order value after the payment process is completed. I think the checkout is working ok, but wondered if it would be possible to make pay later option clearer for customers.

You can set the PayLater messaging to show on the cart page so could you try that and maybe make sure you enable PayPal Express through PayPal Checkout? That should hopefully clear up any confusion.

Hi Vince, Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your advice about the PayPal banners, but the issue I'm raising is more to do with the payment buttons. I have Paypal Express enabled and this just shows a single Paypal payment button on the first checkout page. I wondered if it would be possible to display both the 'Paypal Express' payment Button and the 'Paypal Pay Later' button on the first checkout page, the same as currently shown on the third checkout page.

I'm afraid that's not possible, no. Really, on the 3rd checkout page the PayLater button is a payment method while on the first page the PayPal Express button is a way to log in to your PayPal account to retrieve your address, etc. But you haven't got to actual payment yet.

Hi Vince, Sorry, I thought those buttons worked the same as the Express Checkout button. Thanks for clarifying. Honestly, I think the checkout is working fine for most customers ..I just happened to receive a few queries about the Pay Later option recently which made me wonder if there was an issue.
