Welcome to the July edition of the Ecommerce Templates Newsletter where we bring some exciting news regarding MailChimp integration, a focus on social media / seo and ECT and a round up of news.
We have just released ECT Version 6.8 and are excited to announce the integration of the highly popular MailChimp, leader in email marketing. The integration allows you to....
One of the most popular features in our recent releases was the addition to the product detail page of social media buttons. Thanks to the input from Gary Flack at IT ZAP we have added some help on using Open Graph meta tag code. This is optional but does improve the sharing experience as well as providing detailed stats on your Facebook marketing efforts.
You may have been following a very helpful seo thread on our support forum, again provided by Gary. He very kindly shared some advanced search engine optimization tips and settings. We have added a few of those to our own search engine friendly title and meta description tag help page but a full overview is now available on his IT ZAP site
If you have visited our updaters page recently you may have noticed a subtle change in how the versions are presented.
The "Advanced" Release is currently 6.8.0 and is very likely to have new features added to it. So even though it has gone through rigorous testing we don't recommend it for "modded" sites as there will be changes made to it over time.
The "Stability" Release is currently 6.7.1. This won't have new features added but any essential bug or security fixes will be included when and where necessary. This release is the recommended version for anyone who has custom modifications or is not currently interested in the new features in the Advanced Release.
Updaters as always are available from our updaters page - it doesn't matter which version you are currently running, you can always update to the latest and greatest without going through all previous versions first. If you want to be informed automatically of the new features included in the updaters you can subscribe to the Updater forum - that means you'll receive an email each time a new post is added.
