Welcome to the February edition of the Ecommerce Templates Newsletter where we have some big news for you – the integration of Ecommerce Templates with WordPress as well as a fantastic new ordering feature for the css product detail layout.
WordPress is the world’s leading content management system with over 60 million users. With the release of Version 6.2.6 you can now harness the power of Wordpress with the feature rich shopping cart software from Ecommerce Templates.
The integration is pretty straightforward and is based on our popular Generic Version so many of you will find the steps quite familiar. We have kept the WordPress admin and database separate from the shopping cart control panel which means you can update the two independently and adds an extra line of security in that if your WordPress admin were to be compromised, the shopping cart side of things is kept apart.
We have set up a demo store so you can see how it fits together. The integration will work with just about any theme so you can add it to an existing WordPress based site or start from scratch with the theme of your choice.
Another major feature in Version 6.2.6 is the ability to completely control the ordering of elements on the product detail page. The ability to use a css layout for the detail page has been available since version 6.2 but now you can define in which order things like the product price, description, name , image etc will appear on the page.
This is an immensely powerful design and layout tool, meaning you can customize every single element on the page, not just in how they look but in where they appear. Full details and set up instructions are available in our css layouts help page.
We have also been listening to your feedback and implemented some suggestions accordingly
Updaters as always are available from our updaters page - it doesn't matter which version you are currently running, you can always update to the latest and greatest without going through all previous versions first.
